The best exercise for lower back pain would be to exercise your glutes also known as buttock muscles. Weak glutes are them main cause of lower back pain because they support and stabilize the pelvis and hips. If the glutes are not strong, it encourages excessive anterior pelvic tilt and internet rotation of the thigh bones. Such postural imbalance leads to lower back pain. Chronic tension in your glutes can be a factor as well. Intensified tension in the muscle prevents proper blood flow to the area causing it to tighten up resulting in lower back pain.

To strengthen your glutes, you simple need to squeeze your glutes and relax them a few time regularly. It can be done in a sitting or standing position. Contracting your glutes (butt muscles) is very simple and can be figured out in seconds. Each contraction should last at least 2-3 second. Do it for about 8-10 times each attempt and you are good to go.
